An afternoon with Beccalicious in #dAmnLit
Yesterday #dAmnLit had the pleasure of sitting down with BeccaJS to talk about her involvement in the Literature community as well as her as a writer.
StJoan: So we know that you’ve been involved in many projects, the most recent of which is Writers-Workshop , now how did this idea come about?
Beccalicious: Well writers-workshop was an idea of mine that was based around a few modules I had at university where we had a writing task, then a week to write and then come back and workshop the pieces. However it developed more after a discussion with lovetodeviate who recognised the form would work like the guardian poetry workshops- and after that the ideas just bounced off each other and our enthusiasm for it just grew. We spent months planning before it was launched.
S: So which has been your favorite workshop so far?
B: It has to be for me the lipogram workshop by TheHungerArtist. I had a go at this myself too and it was such an interesting challenge and rea

Sculpture Week Features
Sculpture Week comes to a Close!
As those who watch me may have known, this past week was Sculpture Week, and I had proposed a challenge.  To feature a sculptor in your journal and/or suggest to me a sculptor to feature.  To up the ante a little, I threw in that there would be a random sub drawing for those that entered.
I have to say that I am ecstatic with the things featured and the people featured to me, you guys definitely raised the bar to broadcast this gallery!  Hopefully next time, it will be even bigger!
So with thanks to :iconlaurart:, :iconempressofnoneckia:, :iconelorine:, :icondistortified: and :iconmyana:, I can present to you these awesome features!

D and I News and Features Vol. 4
The Campus Violence Poster Project
The shootings on the campuses of Northern Illinois University and Louisiana Technical College this past week and the tragedy at Virginia Tech University last April have brought a shocking reminder of how an ordinary, daily event can turn into tragedy.
This tragedy illuminates, however, the generous human impulse to want to help those who have suffered loss.
In response to this tragedy, The University & College Designers Association is orchestrating a poster project.
UCDA is asking members and designers to design a poster that reflects some aspect of campus violence-the shock of the event itself, the heroism of the survivors, or the importance of crisis preparedness.
This summer, UCDA's Designer magazine will feature the posters, and include them on the UCDA website for viewing.
Each one-of-a-kind poster will also be on sale through an online auction.

The Great Tutorial Adventure Vol. 2
Welcome to the second installment of The Great Tutorial Adventure, where in this News feature, I'll be covering the topic of acrylic painting.
Acrylics are very versatile medium. They can be thinned to the consistency of watercolours, or applied in thick impasto like oil paint. Acrylics can also be used as airbrush colours, fabric paints, and a binder for collage. Acrylic paints are water-soluble, so they have numerous possibilities for usage in mixed media techniques.
Acrylic paints dry very quickly, although there are a number of ways to get around the issue of paint drying on the palette. One approach is to construct a humectant palette, such as the one demonstrated in No-Sign-of-Sanity's tutorial:

Since the paint dries so quickly, care needs to be taken to make sure that brushes are clean and that the paint doesn't dry in the brush hairs. Acrylic paints have a notorious reputation for ruining brushes.
The techniques for acrylic painting are almost

They are here to support and listen, and I can tell you we've got incredibly talented, devoted and passionate people on this team, so get to know them!

All you have to worry about is the one line.

Both lines must be in the image.
Things to know..

ShoneGold in Car Crash! Update

Journal Entry: Mon Nov 17, 2008, 7:46 PM
Thank you very much for all your kind thoughts and good wishes, to save a bit of work I won't go through and answer all comments individually...forgive please?

Some wanted to know about the blackout...I have no idea what caused it...I have never even fainted before. I am now going to have to have heaps of medical tests done because until I get the all clear from the doctors, I am not permitted to drive. I still feel a bit under the weather so it will still be a bit hit and miss here for the moment. :) joke folks, I blacked out driving my car yesterday on my way to do the shopping, hit a tree and ended up in hospital overnight....I am OK only minor injuries and a bit of shock but will need a couple of days to rest and please forgive if I leave notes and messages unanswered for a bit.

I shall be back...behave while I am away!:)

Hello I am new to Deviantart!
I am Rachel Wilson, man do I ever enjoy introducing myself.

If you want to watch, then that is wonderful! Because I may not be perfect at drawing or doing art, but doesn't mean I can't learn in the process and not stop doing what I do my honest best on.

Oh before I forget, I am looking for people to join my new group called RandomArtsFamily. You may join, your more than welcomed to. I really want people to join because I want them to just have whatever it is they are good at into the group, because whatever it is, it's fine. The more people join, the merrier. I don't care what it is, just come join, because whatever it is you do, it's already beautiful and amazing.

Alrighty I gotta go, be yourself!

Tag a quality deviant, You’re it! Quality doesn’t mean that you have a lot of followers, or a lot of messages. It means that you’re nice to other people, and you deserve to be happy. If you get this message, someone is telling you that they love you as you are, and they don’t care how much followers you have. Send this to 10 deviants who deserve it. If you break the chain, nothing will happen. But it’s just good to let someone know that you love them!
