Judges' Critique

It has a very good and well realised concept. The colors fits the motif perfectly and the picture manages to tell the story of the nursery rhyme it depicts very well.

Judges' Critique

A nice solid pixelart scene. The wall is done especially well and adds a lot of interest to the piece. The mix of styles seems odd however and i'm not sure it works as well as it could. I don't think her hand fits with the rest of her body due to the thin outlines and less AA.

~~~~~~~~
The artist shows a great deal of skill and manages to portray the classic nursery rhyme in both a cute and funny way.
Judges' Critique
THE GOOD:
• Clear and to the point.
• Effective animation.
THE BAD:
• Too many colors.
~~~~~~~

One of the most classic of nursery rhymes, and captured beautifully. The mouse's motion was captured perfectly. The numbers on the face could have benefited from some anti-aliasing. But all in all, one banging job on this.

With gratitude to the judges who offered their valuable critiques and made the hard decision of who were to be the winners.

Judges' Critique

For her scene setting in particular, and the atmosphere.

~~~~~~~~
Great costume design with a wonderfully executed bussle skirt. The pose choice of the base which is often overlooked truly compliments this doll. The addition of the locket adds to the detail spent on the doll. My only criticism is that not as much attention was paid to the background as the rest of the piece.
~~~~~~~~
The whole background is kind of dark but it brings to light the character of the scenery.
She's made great work on the dress and the hairstyle and if you look at the window closely you will see a shadow that really completes the piece and gives a mysterious touch.

~~~~~~~~
....I thought she executed the rhyme well, though I felt the entry was a bit too dark. The outfit is well designed though lacked excitement. It seemed too flat, as all one piece. I liked how she added the Locket/Pocket. And the look on her tells me she's playful and that's how she lures her men in.
~~~~~~~

Artist made a great doll, did research, and also applied the information to the deviation for the entertainment of others. Brownie points!

Judges' Critique

For the use of colors, it is soft while giving a sad effect to the scene.

~~~~~~
It's really worth looking closely to this piece because you will be able to see all the details she put into the dress.
Plus the whole design of the clothes match perfectly the "Little Bo Peep" nursery rhyme and the two sheep add a cute touch to the whole scene, giving it completion.
~~~~

This girl firstly gets brownie points with me for using her own base and hence the doll is entirely of her creation. That aside, she gave a new spin on pigtails the way they are twisted all up and out. She shaded the blonde exceptionally well. (A feat many dollers fail to do). The lambs are an excellent addition and their wool looks incredibly fluffy and soft. Great use of small detailing (lace, the bows on the lambs tails, etc) truly bring this peice to life.

~~~~
.....the greatness in her shading capabilities and the execution in the Nursery Rhyme. The look on Bo Peep's face shows a worried and sincere look for her sheep complete with the clenching of the chest in despair. Bo Peep's outfit is cute and stays true to the time period of the rhyme. And those sheep are just too cute for their own cuddliness.
Judges' Critique
Nice attention to details with her adding the grommets and all on the boots and corset. The underskirt is also a nice detail as are the smudges of pie filling on her face. She has a nice use of contrast of colors between light and shadow on both the hair and the folds of her skirt. I do, however, wish the same level of shading had been used in the rest of the piece. (The pie and the light fabric).
~~~~~~

The whole brown scheme color she chose gives a little old fashioned but nice atmosphere and helps to emphasis the details like the stain of the pie on her mittens and mouth.
Moreover the pie gives a funny touch while reminding us of the reference to the nursery rhymes she chose.

~~~~~~
Loved the nursery rhyme growing up. Love the cute kitty look, like the shading and the hair is to die for.
