First Place

I thought this was quite cute for a generically 'ugly' seeming rat. Simple animation works well and the piece shows skill with pixels and quite generally.

This was an excellent entry. The shading was done very well, and the lines are very clean. My only complaint is the movement. I think this piece either deserves much more movement (breathing, tail, hands, etc.) or none at all. Overall, one of my favorite entries. Kudos to you.

Another good character with short but nice animation.



Second Place

Well chosen cartoony style and interesting pose to emphasize the character.

Simple but effective, I like the face and some colors...don't like colors of the hands too red ...but still a winner.

The text seems to have some stray white pixels. Otherwise, this is one of the better entries. He reminds me of those weasels on "Who Framed Rodger Rabbit?", but with more of a ratty feel to him.

The theme is right and the use of colors is good. It has a cosy feeling to it and the composition is good.

Wow, now that is a busy scene. This can be a bad thing at times, and you are really pushing the bill on this one. Next time you make something like this, try to stay away from alot of extra fireworks, and make the heads have a more random uncalculated look to them. But it is a very sweet scene and I think you captured something extra here that none of the other entries did.

emmil has a good concept, nice composition and bright and colourful. Lack of AA in places and odd/bad shading on the rats themselves leaves this piece possibly lower than it could be on my list.

~
