Square collection of beautiful photos

So often I find myself trying to explain why JPEG files should not be used for PixelArt and how a JPEG file will destroy a piece of PixelArt.
DarkPsymon was generous enough to allow me to use his 'London Pixel Scene' [link] as an example of the difference between saving in JPEG as opposed to PNG. I have enlarged the work 700% in order to make it clear what happens with the two different files. |

THIS ACCOUNT HAS BEEN MOVED TO =de-Mote
But I still prefer GIF over them both.

I have never experienced that with GIF, but I don't use MS paint. I use Jasc Animation Shop for my pixeling.

On the topic of programs, have you ever tried GraphicsGale*? It's simple, tidy, and it has... LAYERS! Great alternative to Photoshop, as it doesn't hog computer resources. [link]
*You can't export files as GIFs in the free version; I'm not sure about PNG. I generally export my work as bitmaps and open them in ImageReady.

If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you ever tried.
I could never understand why my pictures went all weird after I saved.

There we are,
All ready and clean.
Everyone's watching now,honey,
All eyes are up front.
This funeral's for you.

That's me lower right. When the photographer took my picture he asked me to act naturally, so I yelled at him to stop disgracing his family and get a real job.
